Domestic Violence Survivors - TANF Flex Funds

Overview

Colorado's Department of Human Services (CDHS) directs a program that distributes flexible financial assistance to survivors of domestic and sexual violence through community-based advocacy organizations. The goal is to quickly address the most urgent housing and safety needs of survivors and their families.

What's Provided

Through the DVP (Domestic Violence Program) TANF Flex Funds:

  • Rental assistance (help with rent payments)
  • Relocation costs (first month's rent, deposits, moving expenses)
  • Utility assistance
  • Food, cleaning supplies, transportation
  • Gas and car repairs
  • Other urgent financial needs related to safety and housing stability

  • Contact a local domestic violence advocacy organization in your area
  • These community-based organizations distribute the funds directly
  • Call the National Domestic Violence Hotline: 1-800-799-7233 (1-800-799-SAFE)
  • Call 2-1-1 Colorado for local DV shelter and service referrals
  • Violence Free Colorado: violencefreecolorado.org/housing for housing and economic justice resources
