Denver Housing Authority (DHA)
Overview
The Denver Housing Authority provides affordable housing options for low-income Denver residents through public housing properties and the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) program. DHA owns and manages affordable housing communities and administers federal rental assistance vouchers.

Current Waitlist Status
As of February 2026, DHA's Section 8 waitlist is CLOSED and not scheduled to reopen soon.
- DHA uses an annual online interest lottery (not a traditional waitlist)
- Entries do not carry over; you must re-register each year when the lottery opens
- Selected individuals receive a mailed HCV application to complete with documentation
