HUD-VASH (Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing) - Colorado
Overview
HUD-VASH combines Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) rental assistance with VA case management and clinical services for homeless veterans. In Colorado, vouchers are administered through the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center (Aurora) and local Public Housing Authorities.
Eligibility
- Must be a veteran (as defined by the VA)
- Must be homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness
- Must be eligible for VA healthcare
- Prioritized for chronically homeless veterans
What's Provided
- Rental subsidy: Voucher covers gap between 30% of income and Fair Market Rent
- VA case management: Ongoing supportive services
- Clinical services: Mental health, substance use treatment, medical care through the VA
- Housing search assistance

- Visit your local VA Medical Center (Rocky Mountain Regional VA in Aurora)
- Referrals can come through the VA, local PHAs, or Coordinated Entry

Notes
- Unlike regular Section 8, HUD-VASH vouchers have separate, dedicated funding and a different application process
